As for CCP, I have a big problem with how little they care about people being scammed in this game. I understand CCP is all about trying to create content for the game but allowing scamming to the degree that it is at is absolute ********. CCP could have worked to implement the same type of trading system that you see in Eve but instead they put together a very simple trading system that allows scamming which in turn brings about very negative consequences.
Its worse than CCP doing nothing to inhibit scamming. They implemented restrictions on isk transfers, inhibiting people like me, who ran escrow services and exchanges between Dust and Eve, making it harder for decent players who took the trouble to make work-arounds for their failure to code a trustworthy trading system.
I started a break from Dust and Eve at the beginning of the Summer, and just popped onto the forum to check in, to see if CCP had implemented anything that would get me to turn on my ps3 and reactivate my Eve Online account. But I'm not seeing anything to lure me back in, which is too bad because when Dust wasn't being terrible (for the various reasons filling this thread) it was great. The close fights that were won because our coms had discipline and the squads were filled with people who knew their roles, are some of the best games I've ever been in, in or out of Dust514. Some of the goofing around matches with hilarious chatter were excellent as well. But those excellent matches have been too rare to stick it out in a game with fundamental design errors, like
#1 Making the turn rate contingent on the frame rate. That's partly just me though; I can't aim without a mouse, and Dust doesn't *really* support mouse aiming. (or at least it didn't at the beginning of the Summer, I haven't played for months) It supports a crappy, semi-emulation, that I've never really gotten the hang of. So I can play any PC FPS where I can occasionally get a top score from shooting people in the face, or try Dust again, where I was never able to shoot well.
#2 The link to Eve remained a gimmick. I built more of a link to Eve Online through my currency exchange, than CCP ever built. Its possible, but I'd be shocked if the sum value of all equipment destroyed by orbitals exceeded the value of the currency that moved through my exchange. And I wasn't the only player to run an exchange, or even the oldest exchange. CCP really dropped the ball. (Or has this changed in the past five months? I don't know.)
I hope I run into the people I played with here in other games though. The people in Dust were awesome. Although, prior to Dust I played Eve Online mostly, so that's a really really low standard. :D

P.S. Shout out to Zaria! I think the last time I was logged on I was voting for you and Cross and Pokey. If I do ever turn on my PS3 again, it'll be to hang out with you guys.
P.P.S. Do we have a new corp name again, wth?! :D
